New Dryer!

You know how when you have tons of money in savings, nothing going on, and no money earmarked for anything special, that’s when things seem to go wrong? No? Me, neither.

So, the other day, before hubby and I went to bed, we (read: he) changed the laundry load and put the clothes in the dryer. We go to bed, he gets up, goes to work, I go about my day, and meet him for lunch. I restarted the dryer before I left to meet him for lunch because the clothes were wet/wrinkly (at the time, I didn’t really think anything of it). On my way to meet him for lunch, he tells me the dryer was still running when he got up in the morning from the previous night. Awesome. This isn’t something you could have told me before I restarted the dryer and left for the afternoon?!?

Needless to say, when I got home, the dryer was still running. Thankfully (or possibly not), the heat element of the dryer didn’t seem to be working, so we didn’t burn the house down. As I did a little investigation, I realize that the sensor on the dial to stop the dryer isn’t working. Hoping that’s it, we use a different setting. Still nothing. In the meantime, the clothes are still drying in the dryer, even though the heating element doesn’t seem to be working so great.

After a few loads of drying the clothes without heat, the dryer pretty much kicks the bucket. Now, as some of you may know, I hate paying full price for anything. Especially something I’m going to be paying hundreds of dollars for. So, until I can do some research, find the best price/deal, I’m using my new “dryer:”

I even got it on clearance. Factor in my son’s two year old birthday coming up, including an overnight trip to Disney and this might be my dryer for awhile.
